More light painting

Last night I decided to have some fun and play around with light painting once again. I love how easy it is to do and you have instant gratification on the results (assuming you’re using a digital SLR). No post-production editing, no rendering, no file transcoding. Just flip through the images directly on the camera. All you need is an SLR camera and some LED lights (and glow sticks for fun if you want to get really creative!)
Someday soon, I’ll have to post the pictures from my first session with light painting. For now, enjoy fun times #2:

The beauty of sequenced sound

While perusing my friend Rob’s tumbl, I saw this wonderful sound matrix program called “ToneMatrix”. Since then, I have seen this reposted many times on tumblr and Facebook. If for nothing more than archival sake (in case the original URL ever goes down), I’m posting/hosting it here.
Its pretty easy: Simply click on some squares to get the music started. You can hold down the mouse and drag across the screen. Click on a square again to turn it off. Press the ‘space bar’ to clear. You can copy/paste your current pattern by right clicking.

Fuck you Facebook! You are inconsiderate, insensitive, and downright cruel. Icon now available as a fun sticker or T-Shirt!
Like a night out with Charlie Sheen, it may be entertaining at first, but then it just gets disturbing.
Facebook’s intrusion of our personal lives has gotten out of hand. Couple it’s infection with their desire to sell ads to the point of exploitation, and you can call them downright cruel. Facebook is like that friend who still tells “Your mom” jokes in a group where someone’s mother has died. Just ignorant (or stupid) and overtly offensive.
